You either love them or hate them, but motivational quotes are everywhere. You won’t be able to scroll through your Instagram feed without seeing a few, but do you ever actually stop to read?
Motivational quotes and words for wisdom aren’t for everybody, and some of them are much, much better than others. I personally find such quotes to be good mood lifters and I’ve compiled a list of my personal favourites that always give me a little kick when I need it.
Even if none of the below motivational quotes resonate with you (I’m confident they will), I hope it’s enough to encourage you to open your eyes to the positivism that they can create. In a world full of negativity on social media, a motivational, positive or thought-provoking quote really can be a breath of fresh air and good for your health.
Here’s Some of the Best Motivational Quotes…
1. Following Your Dreams
Simple but effective, right? I had to start with this one, as it’s one of my favourite statements of all time. It’s all about just ‘going for it’. If something is going to set you alight and make your life better, be absolutely fearless in the pursuit of it.
2. Believing in Yourself
We’re all guilty of this one. How many times have you decided you are not capable of doing something and so you just don’t do it? I’ve lost count. Ultimately, in deciding not to believe, the outcome is always that it won’t happen. This quote is all about reminding you of that next time you’re in that mindset.
3. Keep Moving Forward
Another very simple but powerful message here. You’re acknowledging that you’ve come a long way, so why stop now? If you’re far from where you were, but still a while from where you want to be, finish the journey and keep on pushing forward.
4. Don’t Quit On Yourself
Yep, that’s right, I did it. I quoted Beyonce. Okay so not a popular motivational quote, but actually a lyric from the track ‘Freedom’ on the Lemonade album. It’s about continuing even when it gets hard, because ultimately you’re in control of your own success and to win, you don’t quit on yourself.
5. Forgiveness
Only in the last few years have I started to realise the power of forgiveness, and so this one really resonated with me. Being angry and holding grudges is exhausting, and quite frankly, it’s bad for you. Forgive the person you’re resentful of, because it’s actually better for you to do so.
Where to Find Motivational Quotes
At the end of the day, something you find motivational can come from any source. A book, a song, a post on Facebook… you name it. So you can technically find motivational quotes anywhere and everywhere. That said, if you’re looking for a specific topic or something visual to save, use one of the following tricks:
- Instagram tag search the phrase “motivational quotes” or just “quotes”
- Google Image Search the same phrase, or topic specific like “quotes about forgiveness”
- Search Tumblr for motivational quotes, it’s like the holy grail.
